The Alps' Cat-Faced Dragon With Only Two Legs
Cryptids are creatures people report but science has never confirmed. In each episode Poss Jonah tells where the legend comes from, what people say they saw, and what a sensible explanation might be, then lets you decide.
The story
High up in the Alps, farmers told of a dragon with the face of a cat, the body of a snake, and sometimes only two front legs. Meet the Tatzelwurm in the Swiss mountains. They call it the Stollenwurm, the "tunnel worm," the dragon of the mine tunnels. It's said to be anywhere from one to one, what kind of monster is one foot?
Oh, okay. It gets up to seven foot long too. to hiss or shriek and to have poisoned breath In 1660, a man from Switzerland named Andreas Roduner claimed a cat-faced mountain dragon reared up at him on his hind legs tall as a man with boar bristles down his back. And a 1779 legend says a farmer named Hans, and we're going to pronounce his last name Fuchs.
Saw two of them ran home and died of a heart attack, but not before he told his family what he saw. And in 1887, another naturalist decided every one of these was just an ordinary lizard or snake. They got snakes up there in the Alps. Never mind a cat face. You decide. So I'm Poss Jonah.
Well, That's Weird.
